MAXCINE FESTIVAL
Creating links between science, culture and youth for 15 years
October 2 - 7, 2025
We are celebrating MaxCine's anniversary festival at a place where new knowledge for the future is created. We bring science to life for everyone and create a lively community around MaxCine, the center for communication and exchange at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior in Radolfzell.
For one week, we want to exchange ideas, learn, inform, listen, talk, see, draw, dance, live together and discuss - in the middle of nature.
There will be lecture rooms, a research and art camp for young people, exhibitions between art and science, exciting discussion rounds, a knowledge café and various workshops ranging from transmitter construction to scientific drawing, insights into animal families, icon painting and understanding the lives and ways of animals.

General information:
Food and drinks can be purchased at a food truck during the festival.
You can find a map HERE. If possible, please use public transportation or a bicycle to get here. If you're driving, please use the designated parking spots. The parking fee and the price for the bus ride from Radolfzell is €1.
Participation in all events is free of charge. Nevertheless, registration is requested in order to get an overview of the number of participants. As MaxCine is largely financed by third-party funds, we are happy to receive donations.
Please note that our festival features program items in both German and English. We want to provide as broad an insight as possible into the “knowledge creation” of our international institute, which is why our festival is bilingual. Communication between participants will certainly be multilingual, but much of it can be understood and experienced visually. We all support each other in translating as much information as possible or bringing it to life with gestures and body language.
The MaxCine Young Scientists accompany and support the festival in the form of a camp.
Please note that we take photos and videos during the festival (Program for school classes excluded). We publish these on our social media channels, our website or use them for festival reporting. If you do not wish to be photographed, please contact our event team on site.
(Program changes reserved)

We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who supports us and the event!
