SCHOOLS

Our offer for schools includes lectures, guided tours and workshops on the one hand, on the other hand you can have a piece of MaxCine at your school. With our FlightCase 1.0 you will get an interesting insight into the exciting work of the scientists at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior.

In our quizzes, which we have created to match the talks in our "Science goes Public" series, everyone can test their knowledge in a playful way.

With its four-page information brochures BIOMAX, GEOMAX and TECHMAX, the Max Planck Society prepares current topics from basic research especially for schoolchildren and arouses interest in the subjects of biology, chemistry, geography and physics.

MaxCine FlightCase 1.0

The science of bird flight goes to school.

An interactive project shows the journeys of animals and how scientists explore them. The "FlightCase 1.0" travels from school to school for about a year and motivates students to actively shape their future.

With the Flightcase 1.0, students can dive directly into the world of birds: VR-glasses enable the viewer to fly on the storks' backs in the updrafts. Via an app the current locations can be called up on a map. The data comes from small GPS transmitter backpacks on the birds' backs.

Videos present the research of our scientists and show how students can participate. Furthermore, Flightcase 1.0 offers an insight into the ICARUS project of Prof. Dr. Martin Wikelski.

Flightcase 1.0 motivates students to actively participate in shaping science and the future of the planet. Six students can work with Flightcase 1.0 at the same time.

The talks in our "Science goes public" event series are an excellent way of integrating the exciting work of our scientists into school lessons. Either as a supplement to home schooling, as a joint "public viewing event" with live interaction, as a quiz template or as a basis for designing your own lectures. We are also happy to offer individual lectures with various scientists.
